Future File
Here is a list with ideas for future improvements for Mirrorlabs.
- taking snapshots of all the items so they are not just a text list in the inventory.
- A wizard or selection of premade avatars to start with. It walks you through a basic customization if the inventory is too much at first.
- making the appearance menu more user friendly and less photoshoppy.
- adding a tint color picker to the appearance menu ( the old prototype had one )
- subfolders in the inventory ( for example: a folder to contain all the tones of a particular base )
- User created items in the closet. ( eventually be able to sell them in a store ) This is also good to use as a clothing previewer when you are making stuff. I might also make a clothing previewer version that works locall
- Shape morphing and posing (this is a biggie and will require research but i think i can do it) It would be awesome tp see what the textures look like on your avatar and be able to embed it all over the web so your non sl friends can see it.
“Would be great if in time you could load your own shape specs and really see what a skin would look like on you” Thanks, Grazia !
- Customize the look of your closet/store
- Personalize the background
- Get some better texture hair for the moment ( anyone have any decent hairbases i can buy? ) Prim hair is renderable but it is really pushing the ability to render all this geomertry.
- Advanced editor for bitmaps ( move around tattoos, line up patterns )
Future Goals:
- I am a makeup fanatic in real life, so i want to provide very high quality and detailed makeup options over time: I want real life MAC addicts to enjoy playing with this tool and find it easy to use, and fun to create beautiful, detailed makeup, easily.. regardless of if they use Second Life.
-Using The Picnik API to enhance the current bitmap editing capabilities, flickr style.
- Finding a way to deliver textures INWORLD rather than exposing the source and having people upload the source files. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Perhaps some kind of a bot could do this? For the time being, if creators don’t want their source exposed, perhaps they could go into a queue, the creator could upload and deliver them by hand.
“I wonder if you’ve looked into using a bot for inworld delivery?” ( ala Prim Composer ) Thanks, Annyka!
Going to be adding to this list as ideas arrive. If you have any ideas, do not hesitate to contact me via the contact page or info.mirrorlabs@gmail.com .
Thanks!
